Acne scars often result from the treated acne infections. They can be described as the spots and blemishes that are left on an acne infected area on the skin of a patient. Acne scars are the old cells that have been damaged with the effect of acne infections on the skin. Biological scarring seems to be the best way of removing acne scars. Biological scarring will ensure that the old cells are replaced with new ones, new cellular growth of cells replaces the damaged cellular ones through a biological process.
Some of the most biological treatment of acne scars include; biological ingredients with active parts like antioxidants, anti-inflammatory, proteins, peptides, and enzymes. Enzymes for instance will break down the damaged tissues and cells while the waste materials from those damaged tissues are removed and in the process, inflammation is reduced while there is a regeneration of new cells and tissues.
Laser therapy is also a popular acne scar treatment. The is a laser surgery performed on an acne infection victim where some molecular bonds of a material are dissolved by a laser. CO2 or erbium energy is then used in the treatment of the areas of discoloration. Laser therapy softens the scarred area and allows acne wounds to heal very fast while new cells are regenerated at the affected skin areas. Microscopic pulses of light are used in resurfacing the acne scarred parts of the skin.
Acne scars can also be treated with chemical peels. Chemical peels contain acne medication solutions that are dissolved in an organic solvents. They peel off scarred skin areas thereby reducing wrinkles and making the skin to look much more youthful.
The dermabration system of acne scar removal is usually done to exfoliate an acne treated skin. The purpose of this therapy is the removal of the superficial layer of the skin (epidermis). The layer of skin that is formed through the dermabration processes will become an efficient barrier against the entry of foreign matter and infectious elements into the body and reduces moisture loss from the skin. This technique will also help in elimination of scars, skin lesions, blotchiness and stretch marks from the skin surfaces. Dermabration can also be described as a medical procedure in which the surface of the skin is removed by abrasion or sanding. It is used to remove sun-damaged skin as well as lessen scars and dark spots on the skin. The procedure is very painful and usually requires anesthetics, in which the patient is still partly conscious for several hours when the operation is being performed.
The type of acne scars treatment to be used depends on the type of natural skin a patient has. It is generally advisable that patients who have softer and delicate skins should not undergo the laser acne scar removal treatment, the laser scar removal process could be more injurious to delicate skins, hence they should not be exposed to them for a long period of time. Generally acne scars should clear off after few days of treatment.
